If you want to buy a bike buy a Ribble
If you want to buy a bike buy a Ribble, nobody does it better. I’ve had 2 previously in the last 15 years, trust me they’ve got it spot on.

I had been shopping for a new road bike…
I had been shopping for a new road bike for the last few months, and got very interested in Ribble. The value and ability to customize a bicycle is fantastic. However, the website provided many frustrations. It appears that the website was recently redesigned and made the experience better. Prior to that, the website would crash more than 3/4 of the time when customizing a bike. Furthermore, prices and estimated dates of delivery were constantly changing. This was very concerning that I would get what I wanted (and still is). Some information on shipping and shipping insurance was lacking and I could not find answers to my questions. Also, when customizing options, my choices were not always fully stored in the build and I typically had to recreate it to ensure it was correct. All will be forgiven if the bike is delivered in new condition and is what I ordered and close to when estimated.
Interfacing with Customer Service
Interfacing with Customer Service was easy. The service agents were helpful and provided sound guidance. I'm grateful for their availability and willingness to address my questions.
Simple purchase
Website was easy to navigate. So purchase was quick and simple. Great customer services also.

Great address for bikes well supported technologically
Being a great fan of Ribble, I turned to it again after having made a decision to purchase one of their top models of hybrid road bikes. With approx. GBP 5k worth of order, I expected top attention. I was generally not disappointed, but (perhaps unreasonably) expected the consultant to answer all my questions decisively, once he would have detected my reasonably poor understanding of many technical aspects. He was very helpful, but did not match my expectations totally.
Excellent service from Jaco
I recently came to the Clitheroe showroom with the intention of buying a titanium Endurance road bike in anticipation of LEJoG next year.
We were met by Jaco who listened to our requirements and, after assessing us both on the sizing rig, advised us of the best frame size, crank length and handlebar width.
Having eyed me sitting on the rig set up for the geometry of the Endurance road bike, he commented that the reach was excessive (which is how it felt to me). He asked me what bike I was currently riding. When I told him that it was a Pinnacle Dolomite 6 he replied ‘Ah yes, the bright green one!’ Which it is.
He then suggested that I try the rig set for the geometry of the CGR. This felt much more comfortable (especially for my creaky back).
He then spent further time discussing gear ratios suitable for two oldies attempting the hills of Cornwall and Scotland.
The upshot is that I came into the store with a fixed idea of what I needed, and thanks to Jaco’s advice, bought a different machine much better suited to my riding. As did my friend.
Thank you Jaco for your patience and expertise. You helped me avoid a very expensive mistake.
Now, if Jaco is available next September, perhaps he can push me up a few hills in Cornwall…

I enjoyed navigating the site and ended up buying a bicycle. The young man helping me during the live chat seemed unenthusiastic but perhaps that was because it was the middle of the night in England and he probably was tired.

A good 4/5 stars
I currently own a Endurance SL, and I love it! I wanted an upgrade, and considered the Ultra SL, or the Endurance SLR. I went with the Endurance SLR, since I love (fit/comfort/style) what I have. The lighter weight of the SLR, along with 105 DI2 will be excellent! I would've given 5 stars, if I could've purchased without wheels, since I have enough. Excited to get the new bike this fall, especially with my custom paint scheme!
Not great so far. Victims of their own success?
I will update my review as I go through the process of acquiring a Ribble bike, as I feel it may be a bit of a journey.
STAGE 1 - The Purchase
After significant research I set my mind on the SLR. Got the cycle to work quote, sorted it all via B2W then went to place the order online...to find the price had dropped by £900. Seeing something was not right I went to the Bluewater shop to see what was up. Now the guys there are friendly enough but to be told 'looks like a website issue, can you wait a couple of days and try again' is an odd request when you are trying to hand over £4.5k.
I encouraged the guy to take my phone number and call me when the issue was sorted, which he did and also called later in the day to say the problem was fixed. Good.
Order placed, (estimated dispatch September) sent the C2W voucher with a request that they let me know all is sorted aaaaaand nothing.
5 days later and after an email chase, I went onto live chat (phones reporting over an hour wait) to be told yes yes, everything has been received and they will be processing it.
1. could have answered my emails to say so and
2. 5 days just to process an order?
Oh and checked my account, delivery is now November. Glad they had time to update that bit.
STAGE 2 - The Wait.
to be continued...
Bike fitting went well with Tom at the…
Bike fitting went well with Tom at the Clithoroe store. Until it came to putting the purchase through the computer. Too aproximately 45 minutes to get it through, apprently new has just been installed, without testing!!!
Unable to get old of customer support. Auto message advising the phone line is closed and the Clithoroe store number unobtainable!!!
Trying to purchase additional items to come at the same time as the bike to the Clithoroe store.
I've spent 5k and i expect better customer service, regardless of the amount.
Considering cancelling the order.

Unrealistic delivery dates by Ribble
I ordered a CRG AL e in March 2022 with an estimated dispatch date of June 2022. I received an order status update in June stating it had slipped to the end of July. I then received another order status update in the middle of July stating it was now due in September 2022.
I understand there is a global supply issue but if you were to order the same bike today (20/7/22) on the Ribble website it gives an estimate dispatch date of November - 4 months away. Mine is currently delayed by 6 months and they cannot guarantee it will be delivered this year.
So if you are thinking of placing an order, then be aware that the estimated date you receive from Ribble may well be very optimistic.
Electric Endurance SLe-enthusiast…
The asssistant was very helpful and was ptient with me in setting up the bike for fitting.
One niggle is that because of my build I couldn't get the handlebars I wanted (one aspect I was looking forward to in the asthetic department)to have concealed cables which I do feel lets Ribble down as you only get to find this out when you get to the shop and as I had travelled over 2 hours I may have considered another bike.

Ribble website calculates the price incorrectly
I wanted to buy a Ribble SL e bike with 105 Di2. It started out well with several helpful conversations with the Ribble Team (hence 3 stars rather than 1 star). However, the buying process was horrible. The Ribble website doesn't calculate the price correctly. In fact, it is possible to get two different prices for the same configuration. Bizarre. I wanted non-integrated carbon bars and stem because the integrated version isn't available in 40 cm bars and 12 cm stem, which is what I require. I contacted Ribble and they accepted that there was an issue, and it was being investigated with the IT Team, but didn't have a fix date. In the end, I gave up and bought the standard 105 alloy bars/stem version and will buy carbon bars and stem separately and replace them when the bike arrives.
